Brian Rasmussen


He graduated at The Royal Academy of Architecture in Copenhagen in 2000.
As a first year student he won the national student competition “ PRISOPGAVE KØBENHAVN”(Denmark).
Second price in the national architecture competition “ CHRISTIAN D. IV´S BRYGHUS”
First prize in the international art competition TARGETTI LIGHT ART AWARD
Career

Brian was born in Ringsted (Denmark) in 1973. He graduated at The Royal Academy of Architecture in Copenhagen in 2000. All ready as a first year student he won the first prize in the national student competition “ PRISOPGAVE KØBENHAVN”(Denmark) with a project for a futuristic metro station. After his studies he moved to Venice and has been living there ever since.
In 2002 he won the second price in the national architecture competition “ CHRISTIAN D. IV´S BRYGHUS”

and decided to open his own office of architecture and design in Venice, Italy.
In 2003 he started a research project “the meeting point between the roman baroque and the nordic classicism”. This project became the theoretic and morphological foundation for many of the later design projects of Brian.

In 2004 he won the international art competition TARGETTI LIGHT ART AWARD which became a starting point for his career as lighting designer.
From 2004-2006 he designed and developed a streetlamp for the city Ringsted, Denmark, in collaboration with Louis Poulsen Lighting.
Brian Rasmussen is now working with firms such as EviStyle, Targetti Sankey, Louis Poulsen Lighting, Karboxx and Voltolina. He is further developing new products with EcoStyle and Bald & Bang.
